On 22nd October 2022 the sun shone for our five amazing members of the Crown Gas & Power team to jump out of a plane to raise funds for our two company supported charities Bury Hospice and Rochdale and District Mind.
After a few months of fundraising, preparing themselves and plenty of morale boosting, the day finally arrived.
The tandem skydives saw the group, with the help of the Black Knights parachute instructors jump from 15,000ft (2.8 miles!) During this they experienced a full 60 seconds of freefalling, reaching speeds of up to 150mph whilst taking in the sights over Lancaster before reaching terrafirma, with some more relieved than others.
So far, the team has managed to raise an outstanding: £2,783! There is still time to donate, however, so if you would like to show your support, please follow the below links to sponsor one of our fantastic jumpers:
Our sponsorship window closes on 1st November 2022. The money raised will be split between Crown Gas & Power’s two chosen charities, Rochdale and District Mind and Bury Hospice, depending on the charity our jumpers chose to support.
Here’s what Bryony Cookson, Metering Data Analyst, had to say about the experience:
“It was an unbelievable feeling, all the nerves and worry soon disappeared and my instructor Chris was amazing. We raised a lot of money for a charity I care about and the team we had on the day were cheering each other on. It’s truly a day I’ll remember for the rest of my life.”
A massive congratulations to Daniel, Chantelle, Stuart, James and Bryony for completing the skydive. We couldn’t be prouder of you all!
